Jack Leishman was born and raised along the shores of Puget Sound , north of Seattle. He has been photographing since he was 13 years old, being mostly attracted to nature, close-ups and scenics. Jack’s work blends traditional nature photography with digitally enhanced photo-art that takes on an impressionistic, almost painterly look, which sometimes borders on the abstract. Images are from throughout the Pacific Northwest , Hawaii , Micronesia and Europe . Some of the pieces are printed in standard photo process, on inkjet printers, and others are giclee’ on canvas. While Jack is new to the gallery scene, his passion for photography has been alive for over 40 years (since middle school). He has compiled images from Europe , Asia , North America and the Pacific. Jack completed a two year study in pre-professional photography at Santa Monica College in the early 1970s, has had work published in advertising and marketing material in the Rogue Valley, in Audubon Society publications, and has contributed images to a Nature Conservency book on Hawai’i. He’s taught photography classes in a small village in Micronesia , at the Pacific Northwest Museum in Ashland , Oregon and has used his photographs extensively as teaching tools while teaching science, geography and environmental studies classes in southern California and Hawai’i .

Jack currently lives with his wife and 6 cats in an old farmhouse in Talent, Oregon.
